What is COPPA?

How SafeClass Shield Complies

Children Cannot Create Accounts

Only parents can create accounts. Children do not have independent registration or login credentials.

Parents Create and Manage Child Profiles

All child profiles are created, configured, and controlled entirely by the parent account.

Full Parental Control

Parents can review all collected data, modify monitoring settings, and delete child information at any time.

Limited Data Collection

We collect only the information necessary to provide parental control and academic tracking features.

Information Collected About Children

With parental consent, we collect:

Child display name (chosen by parent)
Linked device identifiers
Website access attempts (if monitoring enabled)
Assignment status from school LMS (if connected)
App usage patterns for parental review

We do NOT collect: Personal messages, photos, location data, or unrelated personal files.

Parental Rights

As a parent, you have the right to:

Review all data collected about your child

Request corrections to inaccurate information

Delete your child's profile and all data

Revoke consent for data collection

Disable specific monitoring features

Export your child's data

Prevent further collection

How to Exercise Your Rights

In-App (Recommended)

Open SafeClass Shield parent dashboard
Go to Settings → Child Profiles
Select the child profile
Choose View Data, Export Data, or Delete Profile

Include: Parent email, child profile name, and specific request (review, export, or delete data).

Response Time: We will respond within 72 hours and fulfill requests within 30 days.

Data Deletion Policy

Upon deletion of a child profile:

✓Child profile removed immediately
✓LMS tokens revoked and connection terminated
✓Devices unpaired and protection disabled
✓Activity logs deleted within 30 days
✓Backups purged from all systems
